Habit Changer was developed by Larry Tobin and Carey White. Initial funding came from Club One, a leading fitness and wellness solutions company based in San Francisco.
Research began in 2005, including extensive review of published scientific studies about the efficacy of computer-based health improvement systems. We saw that the powerful lessons in the published science had not been translated into a product available to the public.
Multiple versions of the product were built in 2007 and 2008, and each tested with real users over months to measure efficacy. The product was completely re-designed multiple times as we learned what worked in practice and what didn't.
In 2009, a beta version was launched and went through extensive efficacy testing, in which the results were measurable and profound.
In 2010, we began to offer the program to the public.
